Seeing the World as a Slave of Christ

1 John 2:10-11

1 John 2:10-11

(10) The one who loves his brother remains in the light, and temptation is not in him; (11) but the one who hates his brother is in darkness and walks in darkness, and does not know where he goes because the darkness blinded his eyes.

Lexical and Syntactic Notes:

2:10 αὐτοῦ is Genative of personal relationship (Plummer, vid lec 9.2)

2:10  Question ἐν αὐτῷ for “in him” or “in light”? See discussion on New American Commentary; author practically settles with both.
