Lexical and Syntactic Notes
- Τῷ ἀγαπῶντι – Dative of possession in doxology (Matthewson, 5)
- αἵματι metonymy for death (Matthewson, 6)
- It is unusual to have indicative verb ἐποίησεν when one would expect another participle. Most take it to be a parenthetical phrase (as is translated with m-dash above; Matthewson, 6)
- ἡμᾶς βασιλείαν – double accusative (Plummer, vid 2)
- ἱερεῖς is stated in apposition to kingdom to explain exactly what that kingdom is (Plummer, vid 2)
